Editorial Policy

DivorceWay provides general information about divorce and a directory to help people find lawyers. This policy explains how we create content, handle listings, and keep information updated.

1) Our mission

Our goal is to make divorce information easier to understand and to help visitors connect with lawyers who may be able to assist them. DivorceWay is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice.

2) What our guides cover

Our state and location guides are designed to explain the general divorce process, including common filing steps, timelines, custody basics, support topics, and property division concepts. Guides are written for general education and may not cover every exception or local rule.

3) Sources and updates

We aim to keep content accurate and up to date. Laws and court procedures can change. When we update a guide, we may adjust timelines, terminology, and explanations to reflect new information or improve clarity. We may also update guides based on reader feedback.

4) No legal advice

Nothing on DivorceWay should be treated as legal advice. If you need legal advice for your situation, consult a licensed attorney in your state.

5) Lawyer listings and profiles

Directory listings may include information submitted by lawyers, users, or third parties. We do not guarantee that listing information is complete, accurate, current, or available. Visitors should verify credentials, availability, and suitability before hiring any lawyer.

6) Verification and labels

Some profiles may be labeled “Verified” or “Featured.” These labels may reflect additional steps to confirm listing ownership or contact information. They do not guarantee results, quality, specialization, or that the lawyer is the right choice for your matter.

7) Rankings and how listings may appear

Listings may be displayed based on location relevance, practice area details, profile completeness, verification status, featured placements, and other signals intended to improve usefulness for visitors. If sponsored placements are added in the future, they will be clearly identified.

8) Corrections and removals

If you believe content on DivorceWay is inaccurate, outdated, or should be removed, you can request a review. For listing edits or removals, we may request proof that you control the law firm or listing contact details (for example, access to the listed email or website domain).

9) User-submitted questions and messages

Questions and messages submitted by users may be forwarded to lawyers in the relevant area. Do not include sensitive personal information you would not want shared. We may remove submissions that appear to be spam, abusive, or contain private information about others.

10) Contact

If you want to report an issue or request a correction, use the contact method provided on the site (or the email shown in the footer/contact page when available).
